Day 1...It Begins

Jul 01, 2012 21:29

I went to sleep last night, knowing full well what today would bring. It was not an easy task, actually getting to sleep, last night. I kept tossing and turning...The thought kept running through my head. Tomorrow is July 1st. The day that the project OFFICIALLY begins. You signed up for this, Michael. Well, good job for a first day! You made use of something you already had and found a way to enjoy your evening without overexpense.

I suspect that at least part of the reason you didn't go out on one last shopping spree was because you knew that this wasn't just about a game--that you are doing this for a reason, and that reason didn't wait to begin until July 1. You are doing it because you know it is the right, sane, healthy thing to spend within your means.

ETA--Come to think of it, you did actually mention how you thought about the debt that would incur, which would be a not-so-nice result.

Good job, Michael. Woo-hoo!

Edited for clarity.

Great start Michael. Way to go. I agree with mattiescottage - you used something you already had and you found a way to avoid spending half of your allowance the first day. Maybe you could go once a month or even twice a month so that you don't totally ruin your social life. Depriving yourself of everything you enjoy is a recipe for failure. Maybe you can find an inexpensive drink and just enjoy the social aspect of the evening.

Hugs and good luck with today.
