*wraps arms around* it's ooookaaay. it was like his first nomination ever so HOPEFULLY this will open their eyes to him in the future and he can win then. i actually thought they'd give it to eddie murphy cause he seemed to be the big favorite but i wanted mark to win sooooooo much. he was seriously the best part of that movie.
Yeah there's that. But STILL! He deserved it much more than Alan Arkin. And in the IMDb polls and stuff, he was ahead of everyone and Alan Arkin was like, in last place. GRRR!!! I can't believe he didn't win!! He was soooo amazing in that movie, and he only had like 10 minutes of screen time! AHHHHH! -rips out hair.-
well if they do make the sequel for it, which they should cause its have him as a lead, then mebbe he'd get nominated for that and cooould win. i'm seriously praying for a sequel just for him.
Well, I have to admit... I sniffed a bit too. I was kinda half expecting The Departed not to win Best Movie, I'd convinced myself that they'd get like 3 awards, and it'd be script, director and Mark's award. So yeah. x_x I *never* thought Alan Arkin would win. His performance was okay, but I wouldn't have given him an oscar... much less Mark's oscar. I'm still happy for the other wins the departed got but... hum.
Yeah I was kind of worried Little Miss Sunshine was going to win Best Picture. I mean, I really enjoyed that movie, but it's not really Oscar material. I was soooo sure that Mark was going to win, so I was sitting there smiling and happy then they announced the winner and I started crying. I'm so pathetic lol. And I agree, Alan Arkin didn't deserve that Oscar. His performance was good and everything, but it didn't carry the movie like Mark's did. MARGH! =[
I know!! It's like everyone who's complaining about The Departed winning best director when it wasn't Martin Scorsese's [I really hope I'm spelling that right] best movie, blah blah blah. But it wasn't being compared to his other movies, it was being compared to the other movies from that year that were nominated and it DID deserve to win. I think Mark should have won for best supporting actor, he deserved it WAY more than Alan Arkin, Arkin was lucky enough to even be nominated. If I had nominated ANYONE from LMS, it would have been Paul Dano. Arkin didn't deserve itttttt!!! MARGH! -head explodes-
Thank goodness someone feels the same way! Mark has done some kick ass movies and he really should have won! I've never even heard of that Alan guy until now. grrrr
