I picked this book up yesterday at this great bookstore near my work that sells old-school YA and kids books for just 20-30 cents. Some days they have a better selection than others. Yesterday I found a whole ton of BSC books ... not so much in the way of Sweet Valley. But I did manage to grab a SVU book, plus this one.

Serena calls Lila away (under the guise of Lila forgetting her purse in the lunchroom)

...Why does she have a purse? She's 7!!!!
I suppose this IS Lila Fowler we're talking about, but still.

Yeah, it's because she's Lila. She pretty much says in the book that she just likes to show it to her friends. Her purse is shiny and purple! It also says that She carries around a new dollar bill in it (only a dollar??)

I think what she means is, a hundred dollars. That's like a dollar in Lila currency.

Steven comes in and teases Elizabeth, but he's extra-special nice to Lila.

And when I read this, my brain started thinking about how many years later, during the Inferno!series, Steven is extra-EXTRA-special nice to Lila in that kitchen.

Serena says that she used to live in Lila's house until she was eight years old and ... died.
