this should've been the premise for the christmas ghost book- jessica gets a glimpse of how she actually acts when liz finds a mask that makes her a fucking bitch.

Wow, good Liz is even more annoying than usual in this book. I love how she can't be bothered to say, shout for help or grab the hose as she watches the leaves slowly burn.

I wish Steven could've helped more to save the day, because he's awesome.
Seconded!

Well, she is just coming off a major haunted-mask-induced trip. But still ^^

It makes a change also to have Steven not contributing to the terror through practical jokes...

I think it's because the mask still has such a hold on her...when she chucks the mask away she has to pluck up the courage or something....Jessica saves the day again by being her twin!! Hehe! I love Jess in these books!

This is probably true. Yeah, I have a soft spot for the books when the twins come through each other (rather than backstabbing, scheming, fighting and spiking each other's drinks...)

RAWR. I want more Steven-saving-the-day. Steve's awezzom. This story isn't.

I agree on both counts.

I'm glad they finally acknowledged that acting like Jess = EVIL.

Isn't there a Goosebumps book that follows almost this exact same plotline?

Yeah! It's called (creatively enough) "The Haunted Mask".

Aha! I knew it! I always did read more Goosebumps than Sweet Valley as a child. :)
