Sweet Valley Kids #16: Jessica the TV Star

Whoops! I skipped this one! I was too excited about the mystery dolls. I guess I kind of thought it’d been done already. Hasn’t Jessica been a TV star enough already? So much so that I’m starting to think the “instant celebrity status” tag doesn’t do her justice. We might need a “Jessica the Famewhore” ( Read more... )

instant celebrity status, trusty boyfriend todd, sweet valley kids, recapper: strangerface, twin switch

come on now, we all know todd doesn't have a penis :) he's built like a ken doll!

great recap! i love how all the books where jessica acts like a complete brat make out like she's learnt her lesson & then we never see any evidence of this

Wouldn't Ken be built like a Ken doll?

What? Todd didn't try to play doctor? Not even "I'll show you mine if you show me yours"? Lame, TBT, lame!

Ahaha, I wonder what Sweet Valley porn is like. 2nd base?

Wait, why am I even wondering this :|

AND THIS IS SVK FOR CHRISSAKES *smacks self*

Have you seen this macro? I saw it in this BSC Snark recap today and still can't stop laughing. I don't know how the Pedobear meme got started, but it never fails to make me laugh.

I've just been away for a week and I came back to FIVE recaps and this makes me ridiculously happy.

Okay, so I always assumed that the Jessica and Elizabeth Show was their first brush with television stardom. But I was wrong! But I maintain that The Curse of the Ruby Necklace has the best "OMG TWINS let's cast them in our movie/tv show/cereal commercial" storyline.

I love, loved the Ruby Necklace one when I was a kid, so I'm going to ahve to agree with you on that. I didn't link it because it was a film not TV. But you're right!

doesn't it strike anyone else as weird that the twins' friends can't tell them apart? there were identical twins a couple of grades below me at my school, and no one in their class had trouble telling them apart. and they couldn't even dress differently because we had uniforms.

I think it's weird. I have a twin sister and our mother can tell us apart over the phone, just by the inflections of our voices. The fact that Alice can't tell them apart never ceases to amaze me. Some kids in my grade had trouble telling us apart, but that was only if we weren't friends wtih them. Amy, Lila, Todd and all them should have no trouble.

My dad can't tell me and my mother apart over the phone, so I'm pretty impressed with your mother.

My ex has twin sisters that I was friends with in high school. Let's call them Jane and Sue. My favorite twincident (hee hee) was when I was talking to him on the phone and I faintly overheard one of his sisters call him to dinner. He said to me, "Gotta go, Jane's calling me."

I replied, without hesitation, "Dude, that was Sue." Total win. :D

And speaking of win, this recap was awesome. We should totally have 1bruce1 bingo. :)

Kids books make me sad because according to Twins Series, Jessica and Elizabeth should always be dressing alike throughout!

I've just learned to accept the fact that any continuity SV writers establish for themseves is a joke they play on us.
