#56 Lost At Sea

I don't know how long ago this was recapped, and in fact I've just read another SVH book that felt far more snark-worthy. But everytime I saw that soggy face staring back at me I felt pulled towards this book. It might be Elizabeth, as that’s who the caption refers to - but there is mention of Jess having a gauzy coverup. Either way, the caption ( Read more... )

Hahaha....

Beautiful blonde size 6 teen girl rescued from Tropical Island Peril - uninteresting teen boy also not dead.

I could see that as the headline. I'm surprised Jess didn't briefly fantasize about falling in love with Winston (being that they might not survive and all). She is prone to falling in love at the drop of a hat.

Yay! Huge kudos to you for referencing my favourite Mighty Boosh episode!!!
I love Vince's sexy tropical leaf getups, and how he talks about his Kings of Leon CD :D

Winston is taking the buddy system seriously
Aw.

I wonder what would happen if I had a shot everytime Liz flashes someone a sympathetic look. Or everytime Jess flashes someone her upper thighs.
Haha, that was great!

Alice does have that weirdly-happy-cookie-baking-overdrive thing going on.
She's such a Stepford wife!!! Except for the, you know, being an attentive mother.

“Beautiful blonde size 6 teen girl rescued from Tropical Island Peril - uninteresting teen boy also not dead.”
Gold!

..Um, how'd a bear get on a tiny island? Is that normal? (Quite possibly so, it sounds weird to me but I'm in Australia...we don't have big land animals. Just tiny evil spiders and snakes, oh, and sharks.)

promising to be nice and keep the psychopathicity to a minimumHmm...is this actually the time when Jess stopped being as nuts? Have we pinpointed the moment? (She was all horrible ( ... )

Thanks :D

Also, I'm from New Zealand, so we don't even have Australia's crazy snakes etc...the idea of running into a bear is completely foreign.

You're right about the change in Jessica, I mean she's fairly extreme across the board but she does become more likeable as the series chugs along. Not sure if it can be pinpointed to this particular book but it would be interesting to try and narrow it down.

"Back at the Wakefield’s, Ned and Alice are actually distraught and not even their Spanish style tiles can lift their spirits." WIN!

Extra points for working in a reference to the Mighty Boosh.

Then, what the EFF. Elizabeth, through the most paper thin and tenuous of reasons, claims it’s her fault Jessica is lost at sea and throws a pity party for herself. Sure, be miserable because your sister is missing but don’t make it all about you! Jeffrey gives her a warm lingering kiss and Elizabeth thinks that there couldn’t be anything wrong in the world as long as they’re together. Except your TWIN is missing.

Yes Jesus thank you! This whole passage reinforces why I fucking can't STAND Elizabeth. She sucks falsely sincere balls. Or raw moose. Possibly both, at the same time. Team Jess 4-eva. :-) Whew! Ok, I'm ok, had to get that out. Great recap! :-D
