I've never taken to writing a female character before, but there's something special about Annie which makes it easier than normal. Thank you so much for reading what you might not normally do - that makes me feel very chuffed. And Sam and Gene together is just lurve.

I love Annie when she's written like this. And Gene putting his shirt out for Sam to wash is just typical of the man! :D

Trouble is, what Gene hasn't realised is that Sam doesn't have a washing machine so somebody has to go down the launderette with a pocket full of change and a copy of the Racing Post to keep them occupied. I wonder who that is going to be? I'm sure Sammy with have a fanstasic fry-up and a very warm bed waiting for him when he gets back!

Glad you liked this one and that Annie came across as I hoped she would. Good little CID girl is Annie.
