A week away in New York lobbying has made me tired, only slightly optimistic, and way behind in work. Nonetheless I am in love with youth having their voice heard and shaking things up at the UN. I am also thrilled to have meet so many passionate people and I have been asked to step up for the Agents of Change coordinator positon for the NGO ( Read more... )

hey jean- how are you?!
i was attending the un commission on sustainable development through an NGO called SustainUS. I was one of the delegation leaders and helped coordinate our delegations preparation and lobbying points in regards to the four thematic areas that this commission is currently covering- energy, air pollution, climate change, and industrial development. while i was there we all worked within the major groups youth caucus with youth from all over to deliver statements on behalf of youth and children. we also created lobbying points and strategic plans to address such things as nuclear energy is not in fact a good solution for the future and is not really sustainable at all, and that fossil fuels can not hang around contrary to what many like to believe, stuff like that
