It was a good Thanksgiving eve

Yesterday was exhausting.

Had to work at 7, which means waking up at 6.  Not my usual cup of tea, but I was psyched about the concert and everyone working that morning were COOL people with a capital CVS.  So blabla, the day went by quick.

Went to Paul’s ASAP, and fell asleep for about an hour.  Or longer.  $900 mattresses are comfortable, for whatever reason.  I was so exhausted from no sleep and not to mention I was watching Kiss of the Dragon.  That’s one of those movies that you have seen before but that is so forgettable you don’t even realize it.  It was terrible the 2nd time around as well.

And then…CHER.  Our seats were fantastic; 7th row back on the right side of the stage.  We could see everything perfectly, and I was absolutely shitting myself when Cher was about 20 ft away or whatever.  She put on a great show, and screaming/singing “Turn Back Time” at the top of my lungs when she was right there was just…indescribable.  The show itself wasn’t terribly different from whats on the Live DVD, but that’s ok since the show is so entertaining.  She did do a few songs I wasn’t expecting, most notably Walking in Memphis.  Before the show I had told Paul that I really wished she would do that one but didn’t expect it.  When the beginning piano riff started playing I literally screamed like a girl.  It was GREAT.

It was equally great to be sharing the experience with the lovely Paul Atwell, whom is quite the Cher fan himself.  I think I knew more words though ;)  We both agreed that it was worth paying twice as much for the floor tickets, because the experience was absolutely once in a lifetime.  Glad it’s a memory that we can both share.

My sister’s free clear channel tickets were in a terrible spot in the arena so I’m also glad that I ended up paying for the floor tickets.

After the show we went to Waterworks, AKA not my scene.  But honestly, last night I had just a dandy time.  I don’t know if they cleaned it up a bit or put in more lighting or whatever, but it wasn’t nearly as skeezy feeling as usual.  Of course there was your usual handful of just over the top homo’s, but whatever.  Paul knew a lot of people, and I knew a couple so it was a pretty good time socially.  Chantel and Mary-Shannon randomly came too, which was freakin great.  I’ve always wanted to go out with MS and was glad she came.  It wasn’t really her scene either, but it was fun to just comment on randoms.  We stayed for a couple hours then went out to eat at a random diner.  All in all the night came to an end at around 3am.  I was exhausted, and was done as soon as my head hit the pillow.

Paul woke up “early” at 10 because he had to go home for Thanksgiving.  We said our goodbyes and I promptly went home and then to work.  Only for 3 hours though!  Had a great dinner when I got home, and the day has been a quiet and lazy one.  It’s a quiet that only comes from Thanksgiving dinner for some reason.  It’s peaceful in here.
