yesterday, i had pretty much the longest, most tiring day ever. woke up at 6 am for my immunology final (which, by the way, was 60% of my grade), and did that for two and a half hours, attempted to find presents for my sisters, ran into friend who recognized me from across the street on broadway because of my hair, and then went back home to wait with jess for her super shuttle. which NEVER CAME, even though two super shuttles for JFK decided to come. however, we were not surprised due to all the fun stories we've been hearing, but the people on the phone were pretty much no. a cab was easier to get than expected, so that was pretty nice. stupid transit strike. then maria and i had pizza at famiglia, followed by massive packing/moving/cleaning party. our apartment is very much not clean. so i was already exhausted by the time we left to get to the path train, which felt very long due to my massive suitcase and muzzy on my back. i go down there with maria, where there are no signs on the platform telling you where the trains are going. so i wait and wait, and she leaves and i wait more, and then i realized none of the trains were going uptown. so i had to carry my gigantic bag upstairs and across the street and pay AGAIN and finally caught a train to 33rd. i get off the stupid train and go through hell to even get out of the station, there were SO MANY PEOPLE. and then, on the sidewalk, MORE FUCKING PEOPLE. shopping, waiting for airport buses, cabs, who knows what. it was extremely difficult to maneuver my stupid suitcase. and then it got even more fun when i got to penn station, where they had some weird system in place where there were all these barricades and you had to go in through some special entrance. so i waited like half an hour to buy a ticket, because of course yesterday would've been the trip after my ten-trip ticket ran out, however i got some weird free ticket, and i was charged off-peak fare for a peak train. man there were SO MANY PEOPLE waiting in penn station, since they had all of this extended service to queens, but very limited service to long island. so in addition to all the annoying people who were actually traveling, there were tons of people telling people where to go and what trains were running, but of course people are mad retarded so everyone was like where's the train to queens??? and i was just like people, shut the hell up and don't talk to me. or i'll punch you in the face. so finally my stupid train comes, and it's LATE, and i'm waiting by the door for it to open because i'm thinking there's no way in hell i'm standing up all the way home. but then the fucking train drives away, and a new one comes, except it stops far forward of where i'm standing, so i have to walk up, and by the time i get to a door EVERY SEAT is filled, and i barely had room to stand up with my god damn suitcase. and this old guy is like "you picked a bad day to travel" well NO FUCKING REALLY. i had to deal with loud men talking about getting drunk and christmas parties and kids who got injured and fucking laughing about it. so after like an hour i get home. and my family is all loud and annoying and asking me retarded questions. and then i find out like 10 min later that the strike is over and i was just like fuck everything, my life sucks. so that's my SUPER FUN TIME from yesterday. my life is pretty budget.

minus studying, everything leading up to yesterday was nice. soledad's party was hilarious, and i hung out with 30-year-olds and ate spanish food and counted her nativity scenes (63, which is a bit psychotic). the last upward bound was a few weeks ago, where the teacher was surprisingly polite to me, and we watched a film about one of my favorite students who had been battling cancer. then we went on an unsuccessful quest for christmas tree cakes :( why those cakes are not available in manhattan, i do not know. other highlights include last friday's uno's fiesta, where we had strawberry mango margaritas, maria got a bit tipsy, and jess ran into some weird guy from her high school. and we saw the most awesome butch uno's lady EVER. and the 8th grade dance party that night, where some asshole bought twenty raffle tickets and thus prevented me from winning boy meets world dvds for seasons 2 and 3. the later seasons were better, though, when jack started appearing, so i'm ok now :) mostly i was just studying like crazy for my finals, punctuated by many visits to the facebook. and we spent two hours at cosi on wednesday, where we watched awesome people on the street and i got checked out by every middle-aged middle eastern man who walked by. unfortunately, that's pretty much all i attract. i'm glad other people got to see that lovely phenomenon, even if only through a restaurant window.

now i'm doing absolutely nothing at home and i love that.
