Not many LJ users know this, but when you want to put images in your entries or background it can get complicated. *LJ's comments, "Any image you wish to use must first be uploaded to a webspace provider that allows remote loading to LiveJournal. It is not possible to upload or copy and paste a picture from your hard disk directly into an entry. In order to add an image to your entry, you must first locate a Web server that you can upload the image to. This is necessary because other users need to have access to the image in order to display it and do not have access to the hard disk in your computer."* This means that any pictures you take with a digital camera that you saved on your computer cannot be used for LJ purposes. By I've found a way around this, and it's so simple. The catch is, you have to setup an account with Picture Trail, you can do this @ http://www.picturetrail.com/ . This only takes a minute or so. After you setup your Picture Trail account, upload the images you want to use for your LJ into your Picture Trail photo albums. Once you upload the images, go to your Picture Trail mainpage and right click on the photo/photos you want to appear in your LJ, so right click, go to properties, and copy the URL Address given in the pictures properties. The final step to this process is putting the LJ image tags before and after the URL address which look like this:
. Futhermore, people can only view images on LJ if the images can be located on the web.
