I finally replaced my old and busted desktop with something that wasn't embarrassingly last decade and could thus run games from the past few years without entering slide-show mode. (If you want system specs, ask.) Unfortunately, the motherboard had a bad DIMM socket, so I sent it back to Asus last week after getting the OK on my RMA. (The socket didn't really impede my using the motherboard, but no telling what else was faulty. I err'd on the safe side.) I'd be on my old desktop right now, but when I tried to turn it on, it, well, wouldn't. The power light would flash when I hit the power button, and that'd be the end of it until I cycled the power. I'm thinking it's the power supply, because I don't want to know what I'd do if it was the motherboard, and I believe I ruled out everything else. So, I'm on this POS laptop that I got as a free hand-me-down some years back. I've been a bit neglectful of LJ because I'm a bit more paranoid about privacy on my laptop than I am on my desktop, so I delete my cookies and history on here and I'm too lazy to log in every time I just want to read a few protected entries or make unanonymous comments.
