Before...
Just for reference, this is a photo of our kitchen before. and when i say "before" i mean waaaaay before. i actually took this picture when we first toured the house when we were thinking of buying it! So this is the kitchen as the prevoius owner kept it.
That awful pink and turquoise southwestern wallpaper border is history. the kitchen has been painted purple, well it wasn't meant to be purple...the color appeared to be a dark taupe on the paint chip but looks purple on the wall. the cabinets were originally stained a light natural tone that had yellowed over time and had a thick coating of grease over over the doors that were close to the range. We decided to go with a dark red mohogany stain to refinish the old cabinets..which saved us a ton of money over buying all new cabinetry. And the old vinyl flooring was beyond ever being white again, no matter how hard i scrubbed. So, we are now in the process of replacing it with porcelain tiles. And by the middle of next month we should have new counter tops to replace the white laminate...which is now pretty much stained with purple paint and red mahogany because i'm not only a messy artist but also a messy remodeler as well.
My camera batteries are dead, otherwise i would snap a quick pic to show work in progress...maybe tomorrow ;-)
