dreams, childrens museum, remembering Mother, more rambling.

Yesterday I woke up actually remembering my dreams - Mother was there giving a speech at a dinner table with many family and friends. We cried together in the dream. I had more dreams that I wrote down, but that one made me miss mom today. I sat in the sun and had a weepy moment.

Children's Museum
I need to write about my day yesterday. Let me start with a few days ago - D was dragged (happily) to the Childrens Museum by some crazy magicians (Shawn Anthony and Jessica Felice). They had a great time and he decided to drag me (happily) to the Museum yesterday so I could experience it too. The special exhibit included movie costumes. At first I don't consider myself all gung-ho about this kind of thing, but I did take a picture of EVERY SINGLE ONE... so I guess I enjoyed that part *grin*
I had seen Chihuly's piece before (I think), but had NOT seen the underneath side of it - the kaliedascope like experience of the Chihuli Ceiling underneath the giant fireworks of glass. WOW. I wanted to sit in the rotating chair below for the full experience, but then I'd have to fight with some kids.
We saw some other neat things - miniature doll-house like rooms, dino vs. dragon area, BUT, I awaited anxiously for the CAROUSEL. I have not ridden this in quite some time, and the carousel music ALWAYS makes me cry. Nostalgia? Its the same kind of music that the Zahariko's organ plays.... which also ALWAYS makes me cry. We got there, I was excited, we rode the up-and-down horses, took photos, had a good time... and yes, I had to hold back tears (of joy and nostalgia).
Also, there was a mirror room I had not seen before - quite fascinating - I took some good pics and a video.
We even enjoyed the Barbie exhibition.
I thought they had a very clever method of getting all the kids to leave - they had an "End of the day Parade" - the path pointing DOWN the ramp - lol. All the kids looked happy to be leaving, because it was a PARADE!
*grin*

Art Book!
My art book arrived my art book arrived!
I was finally able to order Mark Nelson's book "Visual Dialogues" - You can order it too, here!.
I love his work, and we've even chatted a few times on fb. I told him of my order, and not only did I get a doodle inside the book, but I also got a few other goodies as well!! I am inspired and amazed. :) :)

Remembering Mom on Mother's Day
I stayed up Waaay too late making a video. I spent almost an hour finding a video of mom, and I was going to upload just THAT. I needed to use my video software to turn it right side up. While I was there, I decided to add music and some more photos of her to create an extended memorial to her.
See my Mothers day Memorial to Catherine Burris.

Art?
Artist friend David Kleeman sent me a video on John F. Frame, the sculptor (here) , which inspired me to stay up even later - I ended up sculpting a small clay head. I'm not sure what I'll do with it yet.

My dreams last night included Ego likeness, a stack of inspirational pages (magazine tear sheets, etc), a Temple Grandin comic book and my retainers. Hm.
