Well, let's see how many people I can offend at once
Might as well try and offend as many people as possibly, by stating some of my beliefs all at the same time.
1)I'm a Democrat, and fairly liberal at that.
2)I'm Pro-Choice.
3)I vehemently oppose the war in Iraq.
4)I think Bush is a gigantic idiot.
5)While I will admit I'm a touch homophobic, I realize that it's my problem,
and think denying anyone the right to marry is stupid.
6)I believe in is that there is a benevolent God, but I believe in none of the doctrine of the established religions and believe they were only created to keep the masses in line under the guise of a higher power.
7)Further, to add to that, while I also believe in an afterlife, I don't believe you need to be believe in order to go there. I simply think you have to be a good person.
8)In one of my few less liberal leanings, I believe affirmative action has outlived its usefulness and that people usually make a much bigger deal over racial matters than than they should. (granted, I can say that easily 'cause I'm a skinny white boy)
9)I believe in freedom of speech.
10)To that, I add that that includes anything to which you might be opposed to on moral grounds (provided it doesn't cross OTHER legal grounds, such as child endangerment or cruelty to animals).
11)I am beyond opposed to their ever being a draft. Partly because I'm a gigantic coward, partly because I don't feel as if I owe anyone anything in terms of service, and partly because I know I'd either break down and get killed in a combat situation, or become so totally a different person that I'd be, for all intents and purposes, dead.
12)And, lastly for tonight, while I hold my beliefs very firmly... I also don't believe it's my job to convert anyone else to them. I'm only responsible for me. If they want to have conflicting or idiotic opinions, let them. I'll say I disagree, I'll even occasionally call their beliefs outlandish, but they're their beliefs, and they're entitled to them.
