Beverly Golf and Tennis sucks
So we are thoroughly entrenched in attempting to find a suitable new reception hall as Beverly Golf and Tennis has TERRIBLE food. Just as a warning to anyone else- the food barely approaches mediocre and they charge an arm and a leg for it. We're talkin' canned green beans and very fishy smelling fish (probably previously frozen fillets- definitely not fresh) with 'almond' cream sauce which is really flavored with a whole bottle of almond extract. Not to mention the garlic smashed red bliss potatoes that were loaded with raw garlic- they didn't even bother to try and cook the garlic a bit to get a more subtle, sweet, roasted flavor. Yes please, I'd like to give all my guests horrible garlic breath and suffocate them with the stench of fish. That's what I call a good time, and I'm sure all the guests would agree.
If you couldn't tell, we've been for our tasting. Needless to say I'm completely put off. We scheduled another tasting, but I'm planning on canceling it today. We haven't heard much good about them since and even if the food ended up being ok, I just don't think I could trust that it would be good enough the day of. SO we're on the hunt. If anyone knows of a reasonable hall around the Beverly MA area I'd be happy to check it out. It doesn't have to be anything too fancy- we're willing to decorate.
