I know zero, I mean zero, about wrestling. Cake I can handle, but a wrestling cake?! Ok, I'll back up: my church had a silent auction to which I donated a special occasion cake to be made by to for the winner of that item. The people who won had a son who's birthday is tomorrow and he wants a wrestling cake. Yup. Ok, so I'm NOT doing this again next year since my cake decorating skills are not top of the line. My plan is this: yellow cake with chocolate frosting/filling with the WWE logo kind of silk screened on the cake. Luckily for me the grocery store has cake decoration SPRAY and the logo is only 2 colors. I cut out the templates yesterday and I'm feeling pretty good about it. Monday I also stopped by Toys R Us and found a WWE action figure. That in and of itself was interesting because, as I said before, I know nothing about wresting. I'm pretty sure the only wresting person I know is Hulk Hogan, and I'm also pretty sure that he's not actively wrestling today and is therefore probably outdated. SO, my plan was to find the smallest figure that appeared to have the most clothing on (ie: not something that looked like a speedo) and that came with a prop. After carefully looking through all the racks of wrestling guys with all the 7 year old boys and their moms, I found one to my liking. I think he might still be a tad on the big side for a double layer 9" cake (he's about 6" tall), but oh well. Maybe he can be kind of kneeling beside the logo looking like he's going to smash his little folding chair (that's his prop) down onto the logo. Eh, we shall see. I'll have to take pictures of this process tonight.
