1. What did you do in 2005 that you'd never done before?
2005: Lost weight! Drove to Leavensworth. Went on dates (plural). BELLYDANCING! Learning to fire dance. Trusting myself a little more.
2006: Trusting myself. Took professional (african) drum classes.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
2005: Hmm, I don't think I made any last year, or if I did I forgot what they were. This year I have a number of them.
2006: LOL. I lost more weight like I had intended... outside of that I forgot what my resolutions were. I should start writing them down.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
2005: Not that I can recall
2006: My cousin Tara, but we aren't that close.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
2005: Not physically. A lot of people really did in a few different senses of the word though.
2006: Only my relationships with particular people.

5. What countries did you visit?
2005: Hmm, don't think I stepped off of U.S. soil this year.
2006: Nope.

6. What would you like to have in 2006 that you lacked in 2005?
(A) 2005: Financial Growth, Peace of mind, Self confidence, Sex (hopefully coupled with a decent relationship), Faith in others.
6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?
(B) 2006: More money (a raise or something), a house, a new vehicle and a good relationship I think.

7. What dates from 2005 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
(A) Damn, there is a lot of them. More of them for heartbreaking reasons than I'd care to elaborate on.

(B) New Years! Valentines Day/Mariah's Birthday, and July Coronation/Family Reunion.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
2005: Surviving it!
2006: Relaxing and enjoying the day to day stuff a little more.

9. What was your biggest failure?
2005: Finances, dear God, finances.
2006: Hmm, not knowing how to handle situations better.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
2005: Hrmm. Mostly emotional stuff.
2006: Nope.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
2005: Bellydancing Lessons and Weight Watchers membership.
2006: Uhm... drum lessons?

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
2005: Kim! She has blossomed so much in this last year. I'm so proud of her.
2006: Myself, I've grown a lot in the last year and I quit smoking :)

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
2005: This space intentionally left blank.
2006: Certain family members

14. What did you spend most of your spare cash on?
2005: Probably food, smokes, bellydance gear and movies.
2006: Gas, smokes and food.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
2005: My weight loss. Starting bellydance classes.
2006: Drumming classes, weight loss and quitting smoking.

16. What song will always remind you of 2005?
2005: Don'tcha - Pussycat Dolls
2006: Hmmm, nothing comes to mind.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
2005: a) happier or sadder? hmm, probably a little of both. I'm more balanced.
b) thinner or fatter? Thinner baybee.
c) richer or poorer? Poorer.
2006: a) happier or sadder? Happier.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
2005: I agree with the camping. But I wish I had sang more, cried more, laughed more, danced more, drummed more, smiled more, had more sex, been more daring, travelled more and saved more money.
2006: Same as above :) I don't think that will really ever change

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
2005: Oooh, agree with that one. Should have trusted less with some people (trusted more with others), gossiped less, been less angry, been less sad, been less selfish, and spent less money.
2006: Spent less money, been more spontaneous and been more receptive,

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
2005: Mi familia, Dad's side this year.
2006: My family. With mom and also with dad.

2005: I'm sticking with 42.
2006: Maybe it's in the same place the spoon went.

22. Did you fall in love in 2005?
2005: Nope, I'm still free and single.
2006: Again, nope.

23. How many one-night stands?
2005: That requires sex. But none.

24. What was your favorite TV program?
2005: Gilmore Girls, One Tree Hill, Who's Line is it Anyway and Everwood.
2006: I didn't really watch TV. Though recently started watching 'Heroes'. That is good!

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
2005: No, hate requires far too much energy. I really don't dislike anyone either. I am just so horribly dissapointed in people.
2006: Nope.

26. What was the best book you read?
2005: Oooh. The Medalon series was good.
2006: DaVinci Code

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
2005: I taught myself to play the flute again. Determined I still lack the time to do it and stopped. That I am a decent drummer and apparently I sing decently.
2006: Drumming. I acquired a Djembe and learned that I am good at playing. Took classes.

28. What did you want and get?
2005: weight loss.
2006: Same as above.

29. What did you want and not get?
2005: Resolution on a few things.
2006: Love :)

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
2005: Hrmm. I am really not sure.
2006: V for Vendetta

2005: "Camping" and I turned 24.

2005: One thing? A happy relationship most likely.
2006: Same as above I guess as well as another job.

2005: Business casual. A little bohemian. More girly than before.
2006: Girl t-shirts, a little rockish, a pinch bohemian, a pinch conservative/casual.

34. What kept you sane?
2005: Kim, my mom, my dad, Bryon on occasion and my siblings
2006: Kim, Mariah, my Dad and Bryon.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
2005: Orlando Bloom of course.
2006: Matthew Macfadyen

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
2005: Bush.
2006: Nothing is coming to mind.

37. Who did you miss?
2005: Paul, Susan, and Tiffer.

2005: Hrmm. Kathi and Trish come to mind.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2005:
2005: To save my energy for the important things. It is always when I need it most that I have very little to spare.
2006: Trusting myself has put a lot of stuff in perspective. I need to do that more often.

40. What sums up this year for you?
2005: Change, this whole year has been about changing the things that make me unhappy. Introducing things that do make me happy. Growth, as a person and in my perception of my place in the world. Confidence, that it is needed to survive, to move forward and to take risks because sometimes you need to learn that regret is not something to fear but just one more life lesson. "There are no bad experiences, just some really difficult lessons to learn."
