I watched the Oscar last night and it wasn’t bad, but for me, the highlight of the show was the win for Monique and the move Precious. If anyone got an opportunity to catch Mo’Nique’s speech, what was most awe inspiring was how humble she was for being nominated and winning this most prestigious award for the hard work she put into the movie. Mo’Nique is the fifth Black woman to win an Academy Award for acting!
And what about the most memorable line from her speech; “First, I would like to thank the Academy for showing that it can be about the performance and not the politics.” Congratulations Mo’Nique!
Check out her back stage interview, it’s really good! And how awesome was the win for Adapted Screenplay: Geoffrey Fletcher, Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire this was the first-time an African-American has won this award (third African-American nominated.
Everyone looked awesome, Zoe Saldana looked very elaborate as always, and a woman; Kathryn Bigelow winning for best director; congrats to her and the movie “The Hurt Locker”
Overall, I would say that it was a good night for all.
