I think I have bad computer-buying karma.
I just found out a $15 rebate I sent in for is supposedly "invalid" because of an "Invalid Serial Number". That's nice... I sent in the UPC FROM THE BOX. HOW IS THAT INVALID? D:
So I click on a "contact us" link on the rebate-tracking website, and as part of the information I have to enter, it wants the company the rebate is for. Hmmm... eVGA isn't listed. Neither is Newegg. And there's no option to do a write-in... I'll pick Sony :|
We'll see how that develops...
Just the other day, I decided I wanted a new hard drive for various reasons. So I make a decision. And when I push the button to order it... no. It doesn't work. It's become sold out between the time it was in my cart and the time when I tried to purchase it. So I spend another hour or so the next day finding an alternative, and order it (I didn't want to wait, because I really want it by this weekend - need to reinstall Windows). 2 hours later, I get an email from Newegg: the original drive I wanted is now back in stock ;_;
Combine this with the fact that I lost approximately $35 from various cockups when I built my new computer recently...
I know it's a tiny amount of money ($50 total, and I might still get the rebate fixed), but it's really... insulting, on some level. Perhaps I'm an idiot for even wasting my time trying to fix things and get worked up about it.
Yay bad karma.
