People Who Pick Up Hitchhikers

I thought I might do this more often.
#3: Lisa
Lisa drove me from somewhere in County Limerick right to the roundabout on the way to my village. Her arrival was kind of magical. I had just wandered along a tiny lane devoid of cars, watching ickle baby cows and hoping I was on the right track to the main road, and when I finally found my perfect spot on the main road I realized I was hungry and instead had a lunch break in style. (A tiny lawn along the national road, bread, hummus and gummi bears)

After, I got up and Lisa stopped immediately. We established within seconds she was actually a friend of a friend of mine and was just on the way to a fun weekend with all their mutual friends.

It further turned out she lives right next to the people we went to the people we visited on our field trip. On her little piece of land she keeps donkeys and bees. (Donkeys! BEES!)

I was delighted to be treated to a long talk on natural beekeeping and beekeeping gossip; she was delighted to have an enraptured audience while going on about top bar hives, verroa mite treatments and impassioned rants about conventional agriculture.

Sometimes life is awesome like that.
