Yuletide
I wrote Se plaire for Yuletide. Although I've seen four film versions of Dangerous Liaisons (five, if you count Cruel Intentions, which I don't), I hadn't actually gotten around to reading the whole novel before I was matched on it this year. And while I actually rather enjoy this little missing note, and my recipient seems pleased, too, so much of the Yuletide experience was taken up in reading the book for the first time that it didn't feel quite properly like Yuletiding. More like that one time I was supposed to write a term paper and I checked out all of these ILL books and then I looked up and it was the day before the fines were going to be simply enormous (they were already late) and I started pulling out quotes and references that seemed vaguely connected, in hopes that I would do okay later.
On the other end, I did like the Yuletide story I received quite a bit, Lost Girl Bo/Lauren Momentary Lapse by Oparu. It manages to combine sexually explicit femslash (yay!) with a deeper character study of Dr. Lauren than I've seen elsewhere (not that I've gone deeply looking for same.)

marina wrote it, until she mentioned her recipient had just commented. Also, the complete absence of Kenzi probably should have clued me in. But I do recommend The Talk, which is also Bo/Lauren.)
