I Saw Three Ships

I wrote two stories for I Saw Three Ships this year.

Whatever Lola Wants was a little odd to write, because I was pretty sure that my recipient wanted happy, smutty Hahn/Torres/Sloan, and when I was doing the initial triage of looking at the request I wanted to write, I would have been up for that, but canon moved to a situation where I found it difficult to imagine anything easy happening between the three of them. So, I wrote a story about the slightly more difficult set up.

A Meditation on Algophilia by ¾ Foot Pegs is Angelus/Spike/Drusilla, with pretty-hardcore, extremely vampire-specific sensation play. I'm not sure how great the characterization is, but this is the sex scene that prompted the frantic, dumbfounded, flocked post about my sex life v. writing.

This story also points out a recurring theme in my life. My titles are bad because I am too tempted to make silly jokes of them. The above title is a posh-ese translation of "Hurt by Nine Inch Nails." My titles for Grey's Anatomy stories haven't sucked as much as they used to, since I discovered that all GA episodes are named for song titles. Now all of my Grey's stories are either song titles or song lyrics, and I occasionally use the same technique on other fic. I tried to think of a song to fit this story, and the song that fit was Hurt, but I didn't like Hurt as a story title. So, I made a veeeeeery lame joke instead.

At least my titles are not as bad as Shakespeare. That was a guy who couldn't write a title to save his life. (Seriously, Measure for Measure? What You Will? As You Like It?)

buffy, fanfiction, grey's anatomy
