Sorry it took so long to write this.
Um, so you got my assignment, and you are going to write a fic for me. That is so cool! Thank you! Look, more than anything, I want a good story. So, if you can't write a good story based on my suggestions, write a good story, and I will be super-pleased that you wrote a story for me. I am going to suggest many, many possible elements below, and if you can work two or three of those things in, that would be super cool. I often feel at sea (I'm supposed to give a personalized present to a complete stranger! Eek!) so I want to give you as much direction as you want. But, again, if you don't want any, don't take it and just write a good story.
I like farce, banter, and intensity of emotion (but not angst for angst's sake.) I like stories about two (or more) people trapped in a situation that no one on the outside can really relate to. (The Nine is like the most perfect gen story ever.) I like fanfiction that explores the science fiction aspects of its canon. I like alternate realities (where a change here and there in canon events creates big changes, and the story explores what those are.) I like happy endings, hopeful endings, and endings that punch you in the gut and hurt (but again, not so much with a villain randomly capturing people and torturing, if someone is beaten up, it better be because the villain is the sort to do the maniacal rape and torture in canon.)
I like canon. A lot. (Except for the last two Anita Blake books.)
I like mpreg, kidfic, eating, forced marriages, clan/family building, intrigue and politics, mysteries, melodramatic declarations of love, severely understated declarations of love, experimental story structures, and sex scenes that advance the plot.
I don't like angst, hurt/comfort, unusual characterizations, songfic, het (unless the two people involved are taciturn and totally, positively, not in love and not planning to get married), bad spelling and grammar, stories about BDSM (as opposed to stories that just include BDSM), and stories without a beginning, middle, and end.
In Wiseguy, I really like the way Vinnie reaches out to insinuate himself in people's lives and make an intense personal connection with them. I'd like a story which reflects that connection, either by demonstrating him making it, or demonstrating the impact it has after the case is wrapped, or something along those lines.
I like Les Liaisons Dangereuses because Merteuil and Valmont are witty and evil and sexy and French. I would love it if Volanges and de Tourvel could be just as witty and French, but in the service of good. However, if all you can come up with is debauchery, that's fine, too. Cunnilingus, rimming, dildos, fisting, tribadism, and spanking are all acceptable as ways of having these chicks get physical with each other, in case you were wondering.
4400: I've always thought Sean and Jordan Collier had a Thing from the time they met. I also think, that however necessary Jordan's wanderings and however accurate his visions of the future, he is a crazyass, ruthless, scary mofo and that Sean may not appreciate how this ruthlessness extends to the personal (read intimate, sexual) relationship between them. Although, maybe he does, with the lying and the trickery and the distributing of the serum. Richard, on the other hand, is ruthless, but he's interested in doing good as much as he's interested in saving the future, and I really think he thinks of Sean as a son. I think there's some interesting power/personal politicking to be had between the three of them, and I think the end of last season rushed the job. If you expanded on it, that would be awesome.
Anita Blake: Um. I like finding out stuff about shapeshifter and vampire culture, but I'm tired of reading LKH's bad porn. Monster hunting. Mystery solving. Zombie raising. Trying to control the magic Anita already has (instead of mysteriously getting new powers as a result of having so much sex.) If you can write me anything, anything at all about Anita and not about sex, you'll be my new best friend.
