Purity (Drabbleish)

Oct 18, 2011 11:37

Pairing: Jason/Tim

Word Count: 288

Summary: They have something untouchable and pure. A magic in and of itself.
-----------

There is something pure about their relationship, even taking into account the taint that both of them see in themselves. Their interactions are innocent where words are not (cannot be, as far as Jason Todd is concerned). Sometimes, their relationship consists of sitting in silence, together and at peace. Or. Rather. A semblance of peace, because neither of them know what real peace is unless they are right here in this moment of silence and togetherness.

But sometimes their relationship is a mixed whisper of don’t ever leave me or I’ll fucking kill you and don’t worry, I’m right here, I promise. Or it can be a fervor of shouts that ring of Babybird, it’s okay, calm down and It’s not okay and I can’t calm down, I can’t, I can’t-

It often manifests itself in times when Tim is awake and Jason’s asleep. Sometimes he snores, softly. But then Tim will find his head on his desk when he wakes up-when did I fall asleep-a little bit of drool pooling on whatever was so important. Sometimes a sketch. Sometimes casework. Those moments of Jason snore-Tim sleep surprise Tim, even now. How can someone fall asleep to snoring?

These different facets and moments with in this thing that they have that they cannot quite put a name to, they are all pure and unchanging. Miracles in and of themselves. Jason finds his motivation in Tim and Tim finds the better portions of himself in Jason.

It is complex and strange and wonderful.

“I love you.” Whispered. Quiet. Intense.

“I love you too.” Rougher. Louder. With feeling.

This and all things that are them summed up together are pure, untouched, regardless of whatever taint occurred before whatever-this-is.
