I LOVE MY DADDY!!!!!

I think I may have the best Dad in the world. For the last few months I have been talking to him about getting a violin (because I happen to like the idea of learning to play one, mainly because I almost faint every time I play my flute). About a month ago I saw one of th elocal supermarkets had some cheap and nasty violins for sale, unfortunately STILL too much for me to purchase myself. I told Dad about it, but did not at all expect to receive one for Christmas!!!! I have had fun trying to figure out how to play the thing now, since it doesn't come with any sorts of instructions, but Dad then ALSO did a search on the net for me about basic care and construction type info. I even have just managed to scrape out a sort of out of tune version of "Mary had a little Lamb" (after an attempt to tune with Mum's guitar tuner broke the G string. Oops! *^.^*) But I think I have figured out how the rosin is supposed to feel on the bow, so that helped make noise. I'm really looking forward to getting lessons now, even if the my neighbours wont be. ;P
