Charles Darwin and Charles Lyell were big fans of one another's work. (Lyell wrote Principles of Geology, which inspired Darwin with its theories of enormous geological formations being formed by tiiiiny changes over time. Get it? LIKE EVOLUTION?!) When Darwin returned from his voyages on the HMS Beagle, Lyell lectured on Darwin's findings.
Learning this, I could not help but picture these two giants of science meeting at some Natural History Society shindig and saying "Hey, Charles." "Oh, how do you do, Charles" and giggling.
