I saw the Phantom of the Opera movie today, or yesterday rather. Damn good stuff. I saw the Broadway show not that long ago, and I have to say that I understood the whole story a lot better in movie format rather than not understanding key phrases here and there as I did in the theatre. It seemed like the movie wanted to rationalize everything, making it seem more real and less magical. I realize that being able to move a camera around and zoom in on whatever you want makes most of the difference here, but it gives the whole thing a different feel.
