So, my sister stayed with us this weekend. (Like, in my apartment on an air mattress in the living room)
And we had multiple incarnations of her engagement party. One, 'the parents meet each other' gathering, and one 'our whole extended family is there, plus it's my father's birthday' gathering.
For them, it was a busy weekend, for , it was a busy weekend (because she went to foxwoods for about 24 hours starting with 7 AM on saturday for a 'girls night' to celebrate 's b-day) ...but for me, it was a relaxing, low-expectations weekend. ;)
I think it says something that for me, meeting parents was non-stressful... either that a) I've changed significantly as a person in the past couple of years, or b) I'm so used to being the center of attention through my engagement and wedding and all that I've just dulled my senses to it. ;)
Peanut Gallery: "why should it be stressful for *you* to meet your sister's fiance's parents?"
Well, it was just a strange social situation... first time our families met, really, *could* have been high stress, high expectations... I mean, if it went badly, that'd really suck.
