That vocaloid song & KT's ongoing image issues
As you might remember in November last year there was some serious accusations flying about KAT-TUN having palgarized the Megurine Luka vocaloid song DYE with their song 『NEVER x OVER ～｢-｣ IS YOUR PART～』.
The matter now appears to have been settled, with proper recognition being paid to AVTechNO for the influence of their song DYE on KAT-TUN's NEVER x OVER. There is a quotation from someone basically saying many apologies for the fuss, and for making KAT-TUN fans worried. This is not KT's fault and the composer [I guess?] will personally be supporting KT's activities from here on out.
The writer of the article I'm translating from says Yay that Johnny's has paid credit, but it hasn't been anywhere in the mass media. There's few quotes from blogs saying how shockingly similar the songs are, and saying poor KAT-TUN, just doin their jobs, singing what they're told to sing and then this happens to them.
Yep. I agree it's not the performers fault but I do think the agency are thieving bastards who should be copping more shit over this. This would be MASSIVE news in the music world here, and over there it looks like the Jimusho have managed to stuff a fistful of cash in the mouth of anyone wanting to complain and smoothed the whole thing over. I bet you the 'due credit' is about the equivalent of a tiny, partially illegible 'made in china' stamp on an elephants ass.
