Update, life, nano, so on.

Well. Thanksgiving was wonderful. I actually got to lay hands on my boyfriend, and the family met him, and I think he passed muster. ...ok, I'm faaaaairly sure he passed muster. >.> there's just a mild culture clash between his life and my life, but all parties adjusted after a bit, and the only complaint I heard was "Why is he so flipping polite? And quiet!"

I'm going to take it as a success anyway, since no one hated him, just mystification. ...which is ok, since he surprises *me* still so XD

*SIGH* that's a weight off my mind, anyway. I dunno. My family is very important to me, and if they'd hated him, I dunno what I would have done. They've got damn good judgment, so I'd have to take major complaints seriously.

ANYWAY - don't need to think about it, not relevant any more. He met a *lot* of family. Mom, Dad, gma, uncles (who are gay, I dunno if he's ever actually interacted with a gay couple before, but he seemed peachy with the entire affair) (yes, Mr. uMatic, you may tell them I said that XD)two current best friends, best guy friend/two week bf from high school, best friend's bf (they kind of hit it off, oh nerds), best friend's mother (aka mummy aka altamother), a bunch of people who've known me forever, etc...

So yeah. Thankgiving was great. I even got him and my friends to myself occasionally, and DIDN'T fall TOO desperately behind on nano.

ok, so I'm still not all the way caught up, but 42k seemed like a great place to stop for the night, and I'd written 7k today alone. So I fell way behind, but caught up. Now I just have to write at least 2k every day for the next four days. Shouldn't be so bad, I'm at a 'holycraplotsofstuffhappening' part of the novel, where things start going DOOM just before the two big climaxes. yay!

Anyway, I still don't know precisely what I'm doing after school. I'm praying, hoping, studying and sucking the HELL up for a pass in one of my classes, because I wasn't doing good to begin with, and then the test she gave us was like... ten kinds of hard, and no one got a good score, myself included. You think if the class average was *never* above 70% for a test, and usually around 50% one would take a hint to either curve it or make it easier... but no, apparently not.

So I just have to pass. That's it. I did an hour's worth of checking into things on horseshoe crab blood and mite's relation to madagascar hissing cockroaches (mutualism, not parasitism, yay.) Interesting, but ulteriorly motivated. I don't know who taught me the art of brown nosing, but they did it well and I thank them.

Ok. Well, it's late, and I really should either be showering or sleeping (damnit... stupid sleep schedule thrown off again...) so yeah. yay update.

eidt: oh, and I find it very odd that some 85,000 words into the novel as a whole, I'm just now getting into the part that I penned in high school, and the part of the plot that the last two years of nano have been based on.
