Woke up at 8:00 thinking that my time in the sunlight today would be nice and relaxed, only to walk into my living room to see my father sitting in his chair, like he does every day he's not at work. Turns out he's on furlough. At least I won't be home much.
This has been an absolutely fantastic week. In fact, this summer is proving to be a damn good one- The trip of a lifetime to Paris, and doing so, so much with all my friends. I don't want it to end, even if it does mean the beginning of a new chapter in my life. But enough with the philosophical stuff. Here's what's been happening lately.
I believe it all started Tuesday, when I went to a going-away party for Helena, a foreign exchange student. Well before the party, I bopped over to Heather's house and we went and got stuff to tie-dye, as Helena had instructed. Well, our little trip turned into kind of a big shopping excursion. Fun for me; I've never done girly stuff like that with my people before :) We finally made it over to Helena's after some confusion (never let foreigners give you directions in their second language- PINE TREES ARE NOT OAK TREES, HELENA!) and commenced the crazy. We talked, tie-dyed (wherein I proved my true hippie-dom. Do not mess with the tree-huggers!), played charades (heh), and finally dispersed at about 11:00. I'm gonna miss that girl.
Wednesday I went and chilled with Heather again. I remember loading a ton of weird music onto her comp, and blasting Bohemian Rhapsody VERY loudly in downtown Sonora. There was some other stuff too, which shall not be revealed for the sake of keeping my hide in one piece.
On Thursday, Danielle and I drove to Riverbank to see Ken and Gino et al perform A Midsummer Night's Dream. I was so, so impressed! Dude, Ken, you guys can act. Rock on! Watching the play was awesome, and of course, any chance to see Gino is a good one ;)
Friday (which doesn't feel like it was Friday), Heather and I made a whirlwind trip to Stockton. The plan was for us to hang with her b/f. However, said b/f flaked out big time. First, he forgot we were going down to see him (Heather had told him on Tuesday!), then made us wait 20 minutes outside his house before he showed up, then proceeded to do absolutely nothing for the rest of the day. As it turns out, He and Heather broke up on Saturday night. My reaction? Good riddance :) naw, I really want 'em to stay friends as Tyler's a pretty cool guy... he's just obviously NOT the kind of person one wants to date.
Heather and I went to The city of action again yesterday to hang around with the foxboi and Kenny. We watched FLCL and now that I've seen it, I know what all the hype is about. Awesome series. We walked everywhere, Gino and I- curse you, Tiny! ;) Nah, it facilitated some good discussion. Unfortunately, the shoes I had on tore my feet to shreds. Don't get me wrong; it was worth it. Just.. ow. So yeah, we beat each other up on Soul Caliber II and basically all hung around acting stupid. It was great fun.
Today, I have an appointment with my dentist to see if I do indeed have to get my wisdom teeth ripped out this summer before I take off. I have no time for that! The summer is too short as it is! RAR! After that, I think I'm gonna go see da wifey for some movie-watchin' goodness. Bloody Roar mught be thrown into the mix as well. BATGIRL!
