Well I love that dirty water....OH! Boston you're my home!

So here's how it all went down.
Monday. 3pm.
After reading the Boston Globe online, I send snoopnic an email.
Me: Duckboats. Dropkick Murphy. Papelbon riverdancing. I want to drive home right now for this.
Nic: ROADTRIP!!
Me: Dude, I'm ready to leave now. I'm still wearing my shirt.
Nic: It would probably be the wicked funnest day ever! How long is the drive?
Me: SKIP WORK! We could crash at my brothers!
Nic: We could also take the train.
Me: Oooh, good call! You know I'm serious about going, right? I will totally bail on work to see Tessie in person.
And 4 hours later we were on a train to Boston.
My very first truly impulsive decision. MAN AWESOME.

Nic's dad picked us up from the train station at midnight, and we crashed at their house for the night. Bright and early the next morning we got off with the masses at Copley Square where my brother and I spent 10 minutes on the phone trying to find each other, only to realize...we were standing about 5 feet apart.
"I'm in front of the T stop!"
"No I'M in front of the T stop!"
We had amazing spots for the parade- perfect view, and I even got to sit on a barrier. Much better than the fools across from us who climbed trees and were pulled off roofs by the cops.

It appears as if I was eating this sign.
I was not.

Shortly after this picture, the chanting began.
Crowd: "YANKEES SUCK!"
Ortiz, holding hand to ear: "What?"
Crowd: "YANKEES SUCK!"
Ortiz: "What?"
It went on for quite some time, and entertained the hell out of everyone.

It was hard to get pics of the players half the time, because they were so busy taking pics of US!

While not dancing yet (nor had he changed into his kilt yet) Papelbon still managed to get the crowd going.

There were a LOT of teachers playing hooky. They would freak out whenever the camera crews came by. This guy didn't even want ME to take his picture. Apparently, it was report card day.

Varitek, moments before he stole a giant "B" on a stick from the crowd and waved it around.

Shilling shows off the World Series Trophy

After the parade passed us by, we hit the park over by Copley to check out the Jumbotron and wait for Papelbon to dance.

Even the skywriters love the Sox.

We are REALLY eager for Papelbon to start dancing. In the meantime, I took embarrassing photos of all of US doing the dance while we waited. BLACKMAIL VIDEOS.

Nic and I nuzzle up to "Curt Shilling"

Parade was awesome, Dropkick Murphy's were awesome, Boston was awesome.
And I will be riverdancing in my head for days to come.

boston, fun, family
