I'm Back!
Hey guys,
Sorry I've been absent for so long... the world was really conspiring against me and gobbling up my free time! It was a whole bunch of little things but you know how they can build up.
So, in no particular order, here are the things that decided to irk me this past month.
1. I had my finals. I won't go into the big problems I had with the college admin and getting them to organise my exams again... even though it was their mistake that I had to wait until now to actually do them. Admin hate students so much, thank God for the lecturers and professors.
2. I failed my driving test. I bloody pissed off about it because I failed on a technical aspect, but a fail is a fail. I'm re-sitting it on the 5th September, so hopefully I'll have learned from my mistake. >_<
3. A car reversed into mine and it's tow bar destroyed my bumper. It was actually funny in retrospect. I was parked in the shopping centre, waiting for the cars in front of me to move so I could get out. A taxi started reversing out of a space across from me. So he continue reversing and built up speed and I realised he was going to hit me. I lay into the horn but he hit me anyway. I just sat there for a few seconds, wincing as he pulled forward and there was an audible 'crunch' from my poor bumper. I got the impression he was going to drive off so I jumped out of the car and hit the back of his one. The driver got out and came to have a look at the damage. He started arguing with me and implied it was my fault. o_0 Yep, I was in his blind spot... which, eh... yeah, I couldn't figure out his logic. It's hardly my fault if I'm parked and some reverses into me because he didn't look around properly.
An older man noticed what happened and saw me arguing with guy and came over to help. He was really nice and pretty much set the other guy straight and told him to cop on and just admit liability, which he did when he realised it would cost him about ten times the amount to appeal it and he would lose without a doubt.
Thankfully, my uncle is a mechanic so the car has been fixed and after lots of phone calls the insurance is all sorted out. I so didn't need all that hassle during my bloody exams though!
But, yay! Finished university for now. It only took six years, including the two year sickness leave... I know I'll bawl my eyes out at graduation. I'm a big wuss like that.
So I'm finally catching up on fandom things.
The FMA Raw Chapter 74 is out! Not translated as of yet, but still wahoo!
Avatar season 3! EEP! I'm very excited. The trailer kicks ass. I can't wait for the first episode. Hopefully I'll be able to get my hands on it though.
I've loads of fics to catch up on. littlechemist01, I'm dying to read the next few chapters of November! And all the fireandice2007 fics to read!!!
I've finally got time to work on my own fics too! I hid them away on myself in case I felt tempted. I'm working loads over the next week but hopefully I'll get time somewhere. Oh, and as is usual for me when studying, I've loads of plot bunnies... loads and loads of new plot bunnies!
The whole livejournal boldout kerfuffle has me really confused. I'm still trying to make my way through all the posts and see if fic writers are under threat. Anyone have a link to a summary of what's happening? Or does anyone even know the full story?!
Hmm... I think that's all my news. I'm off to celebrate the end of my exams in a stereotypical Irish way... with Guinness and Bulmers.
