so.. since its a slow cafe Sunday morning, and Im feeling reminiscent, I might as well post a Dave summary because I feel the need to do something constructive other than scaring people out with a guitar...
I left in May Not because I went to jail, was kidnapped or on the run from robots or anything... I joined the Army Reserve.. ahaahahahahah... the crap I convince myself to do.. man... well, the signon bonus was really good, the education benefits were also really good, and it doesn 't look like my unit is set to deploy in this fiscal year... so thats good too.
So I'm back at the cafe now, relearning to play guitar and think for myself... and seriously, it's an odd experience.. almost a bit scary, not knowing what life will throw at you when you got totally used to the regimen of Basic training and then again in tech school... People in training, or the military in general, are working towards the same goals, as a unit, but in the real world you're catching people, even if they're doing something similar, typically at a different point on a completely different path that leads to any number of goals.... and I had never really noticed this before... it almost makes one suspicious, or just weirded out a bit... thank god for people like Jewels and Chris Mejora (now my roomate), because they've been there and have had some good advice in readapting. I think human beings really were meant to be group thinkers, there is really comfort when there is consensus on life with all those you interact with... I think the more we get to disconnect, with the internet (ha), phones, tv.s, etc etc... the more we run from something we're programed to be, and the result is some kind of mass psychological disorder that manifests itself in all kinds of terrible ways, i.e. depression and things like it... you don't have your group to fall back on who all know Exactly what you're going through... when they do, it unifies you and makes you feel as if you can put up with anything. I'd never felt that before. Too bad I had to learn it in the Army, but such is life... you never find things were you expect.
but anywho, lunch people are coming in.... afternoon all.. :)
