what's truly foreign is traitor, because loyalty is ingrained, deep, deep, impenetrable. - I love the ambiguity of who exactly is traitor here. (I'm delighted with either but I do sort of hope it's Harry.) Brava.

Aha, you picked up on that. I love ambiguity. \o/

He doesn't know Tom had done the same - followed a pattern, a train track that ended in derailment. A heavier shotgun in his hands.
THIS. I LOVE the tie in with Tom and the early days of the show, especially since Lucas trained him. It's just such a beautiful circle and shows how tragic these two can be.
This fic made me even more excited for S9. lakjwroeu!

(Actually, ignore that, because it made for a FANTASTIC fic.)

But yes, I'm totally with you on the 'too calm' thing. It worked with Ros (Ice Queen and all that), but her breakdowns made it better. If that makes sense.

Yes, I totally agree with you about Ros, she held it so perfectly in check but when she did break down it was shocking and stunning. I think it could be similar with Lucas, because it's all so deeply internalized. I just want him to get truly angry at something for once (can he properly yell at Harry like Tom used to? lol).
