I really wish women's sizes came in the actual MEASUREMENTS like menswear does. It'd make everybody's lives way fucking easier.

me too. i recently found out that a current size 12 is actually a size 16 or so. it was really depressing to learn that, instead of dropping 2 sizes in a few weeks, i'm the same size i was 6 months ago. :(

Well you did actually drop sizes as a the vanity sizing affected larger sizes too(ie the 16 used to be 18) But yes, can we get some measurements on clothes? or at least a standard sizing chart so if you're a 10 in one company's clothing, you'll be a 10 and all companies.

well these are size 16s from years ago... i don't know how long ago the whole "vanity sizing" thing started.

I think vanity sizing started a while back. I remember first hearing about it late 1990's early 2000's Question is how well do the old size 16 pants fit, are they looser and baggier?

they fit exactly the same as the size 12s i just bought a couple of weeks ago... mainly i was all stoked because i was finally down to a size 12, only to realize that it's not that i've gotten smaller, size 12s have just gotten bigger.

YES. THIS. FUCKING THIS. Auuugh. I just wanna go in and snag a pair of pants that have my number on it and know they fit. And not go "WELL HMM. IN THIS BRAND I WEAR THIS SIZE, AND THIS BRAND IS MADE BY THE SAME COMPANY BUT I HEAR THEY SIZE SMALL"

Seriously, Old Navy is the worst about this crap. IN IN THE SAME STORE, I will wear two completely different sizes of pants. What. the. fuck.
