Okay, enough about the shopping.. Coz obviously, that's not the only good thing bout my trip... heheh
When we arrived on Saturday, we went for a tour around the city.. Really love the Victorian influenced shop houses, they look really quaint :-) Made a stop at Paddington Market to check out some crafts.. Really2 liked the paintings and photographs, i couldnt decide which one i wanted for my room... So ended up not getting any :-(
Had lunch at Kasturi, this Malaysian restaurant on the corner of George St and Valentine St.. The interior of the restaurant was sort of retro with a modern twist.. Really nice!
And the food was delicious too! Had teh ais for dessert.. It came with whipped cream! Soo cute!
After lunch, we went for a short cruise! Got a great view of the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge.. The weather was kinda blahh so the views weren't that amazing... :-(
Really wanted to try that bridge climb thing Amir recommended, but no one was up for it.. *sigh*
On Sunday, we checked out the Paddy's weekend market.. It was a walking distance from the hotel.. Saw some really interesting stuff.. I even found a card making stall.. The cards were gorgeous! Love the floral ones, especially the frangipanis.. There was a cardmaking demonstration too, so i learned a few techniques to make flowers.. hehe got my self a quilling kit too :-)
After lunch, we walked to Darling Harbour from the market.. The weather was fabulous, plus it was a weekend, so a lot of people were out and about.. hehe enjoyed walking for a change, coz i guess that's the best way to take in the scenery and truly experience Sydney.. Took a lot of pics along the way.. Hehe
I just love seeing people walking hand in hand.. Especially old people, too cute! :-D
Here's our tourist pic.. hehe
The weather was kinda hot, i was really tempted to go in for a dip in this enticing oasis.. ;-) there were a lot of these along the way to the harbour side.. I wonder why Malaysia doesnt have much of these....
Another thing i like is the usage of tensile canvas canopies.. they look really nice, and a good way to provide shade.. they're not bulky either.. genius! hehe oh yea, check out the seagull flying away in the pic! lol
Along the way, we checked out the Harbourside mall.. I simply adore the outdoor cafes along the harbour!!
I even saw a floating restaurant on a boat! Funny, coz i was just telling Sha how i wanted to open a restaurant like that one day.. hehehe :-) but first i gotta learn how to cook! lol
We then crossed the bridge to get to the other side of the harbour.. It was a really long walk, but somehow there was something that kept me going without complaining.. hehe
Saw lots of yachts lined up along the marina.. Such a gorgeous sight! Oh how i would loveee to own a yacht one day! heehee it doesnt have to be those huge ass ones, a moderately sized one would be okay.. hehe
Like this one.. :-D
Hehehe this pic sorta reminds me of this pic of me and Sha in Central Park when we were younger.. hahah
Monday was a full day of shopping, coz we discovered SUPRE Gowings Building. By far the best SUPRE outlet EVER! Saw some guys breakdancing outside Imperial Arcade.. Really really cool! People gathered round to watch.. I later found out that they do this every single day!
Checked out Bondi Beach on Tuesday.. The views are breath taking.. Too bad it was kinda cold that day.. Would have loved to take a dip in the water.. Aww phooey! :-(
I want a house by the beachhhh!!!!
Later in the evening, went for a walk to Hyde Park wif Mama and Papa.. wanted to take more pics.. Heheh the parks are soo nice.. Unlike the pathetic excuse for parks we have here in Malaysia, filled with rempits and stuff.. :-/ ech!
Caught a glimpse of a gothic church from the park.. Looks really enchanting during sunset.. Kinda looks like a castle in a fairytale.. heheh :-)
That nite we went out for dinner with Papa's friend and his family.. We ate at this restaurant at the harbour side.. I cant remember the name of the restaurant.. :-/ it was really nice though.. Especially this waitress we had, she was super friendly.. hehe
Took some pics of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge, coz they look prettier at night.. Unfortunately i didnt bring my tripod so most of the pics didnt turn out that nice.. :-(
Had baskin robbins for dessert, while walking around a bit.. Got a bit emo coz it just hit me that i was in Sydney. Like SYDNEY! Crazy... I saw the Opera House many times before, in books and on telly.. But now i'm actually here! Okay, merepek.. But that's wat i felt... Huhuh wanted to absorb every single bit of it.. But felt like it wasnt enough.. Like i wanted to experience everything about Sydney.. But i guess that's not possible la, coz there's too many things happening.. hehe
Walked up to check out the Opera House up close.. hehe i didnt know the roof was made out of tiles! Did u?? hehe
On Wednesday, we visited Taronga Zoo.. hehe keep getting confused whether it's Taronga or Toranga.. hahah watever! The zoo experience turned out to be quite fun, actually! heheh i even touched a snake! euuwww! hahah
Check out the pic of me and a Komodo Dragon! eheee
Here we are posing with the gorillas, trying our best to fit in.. hehee
Anis, Sha and me as penguins! heehehe oh no, my head is in the wrong direction.. lol
Watched a seal show at 1pm.. heheh it was really cute! :-) After that we had lunch coz we were damn hungry.. Dah la the kid sitting beside me was having a burger and chips! God! I pun nakk!
After lunch we walked around a bit more..
And here is my sister doing a chimpanzee impersonation:
And another one:
God, she's a natural! hahah effortless!
But this, is THE CUTEST creature at the zoo:
It's a kind of hedgehog.. Sooo adorable! It's soo fat and fluffy and it was waddling along.. Awww!!!
Had dinner at the harbourside again.. This time we went to an Italian restaurant.. :-) love the atmosphere of the place.. God, i soo wanna live here.. hehe had waffles and ice cream for dessert coz i've been craving for it since the day we arrived.. hehe not as good as Gelare's, but not that bad either.. heheh
On Thursday, we practically spent the whole morning looking for Toys R Us, coz the kiddies wanted to go.. Haih... Finally found one at the Supa Centa.. Got a tree made out of wrought iron to hang my accessories.. Soo cun! :-D
After that we went to Mosman for lunch and to check out the cute shops along Military Rd.. Saw something that caught my eye the day we went to the zoo, so i just HAD to check it out.. Hehe it was this mannequin made of wrought iron! Damn niceee! But it was too big to bring back, and not to mention too expensive.. Haiyo.. It wud've been PERFECT for my room!! So i settled for a smaller one...
That nite we had lunch at this Chinese Muslim restaurant.. Spent a whole hour trying to look for the restaurant, coz we didnt have the complete address.. Soo frustrating! And i was damn hungry! huhu when we finally found it at the corner of Pitt St and Albert St, it was worth it coz the food was great :-)
Went back then had to start packing.. Uh oh!! :-/ i was gonna be in big troubleee...
Thank goodness we somehow managed to fit everything in our bags! hehe (okay, me and mama had to sit on it....) ;-)
We checked out on Friday, then spent the rest of the day at Paddy's Market and Imperial Arcade.. Bought some last minute stuff that could fit in our carry on luggage.. heehee ;-) had to steer myself away from SUPRE!
At 6, our transportation took us to the airport.. After checking in, had some Krispy Kreme donuts! Weeee! :-D
Our flight got delayed, grr.. Then made a transit stop at Brisbane before heading to KLIA..
Overall, i had a great time in Sydney.. :-D only felt like i didnt have enuff time to take really, really great photos.. It's not easy shopping, sight seeing and taking pics at the same time.. especially while carrying the heavy SLR.. huhuh still need to learn how to balance it all out...
Hope u had fun reading bout my trip! Mwahx!
