Hoping it's worth the wait...
So this is it, my Hari Raya entry..
On the last day of Ramadhan, my family had an extra special buka puasa feast at Nenek's house..
Nenek (with help, of course) prepared nasi lemak, complete with all the condiments as well as ketam goreng.. It was superb! Just wat i needed to kick start the festive season.. Hee!
After buka, Uncle Yan drove me and Eva to the hospital to deliver dinner to Linny and Zaki.. Poor guys had to celebrate raya at the hospital.. Phooey! :-(
On our way back to Kg Baru, we stopped by at Coffee Bean, BSC..
By hook or by crook, we havta get our raya eve ice blended drinks.. Yes, we are strict tradition followers ;-)
And since this year there werent enough cousins to celebrate, we decided to take away drinks for all the 'oldies' who were waiting at home...
On Raya morning, i woke up bright and early to go to the kubur.. Had to pinjam Eva's old baju kurung coz i didnt bring any kubur baju kurungs (aha, there is such a thing :-P)
After that, we went to the hospital again to deliver raya food to Linny and Zaki.. I felt just like the Hari Raya version of Santa Claus.. But instead of spreading Christmas joy, i was spreading Raya joy.. Shasha even volunteered to sing 'Raya carols' for them.. Merepek! Hahah
When we got back to Nenek's house it was our turn to have breakfast.. The food was great, as usual ;-)
At some point, i was expecting to see Aidil and Joey make their way into the kitchen to join us..... But yeah, obviously that didnt happen.. *sob*
Went upstairs to change into our raya attire then the sorry-sorry session began.. The queue was heartbreakingly short this time around.......
Got Rina, Dan and Joey on Skype, which put a smile on my Nenek's face :')
We got to speak to Aidil over the phone too, which was really nice..
I just wished everyone had iChat, so it would be much easier to have video conferences! Oh well..
Next on the agenda was the photography session.. And i got pretty stressed coz everything was overlapping, and too many people were demanding my attention, and things got a bit out of hand.. There was this point when i just couldnt take it anymore!!
Okay, enough about that.....
All that's left. Soo sikit compared to last year........

After taking pictures, we set off to visit Papa's relatives..
Budak keciks were everywhereeee! :-/ They kept pulling me and Sha, asking us to join them play kejar-kejar!
What the?
We suggested hide-n-seek instead, and volunteered to do the counting.. Our plan to get rid of them sorta worked (for awhile).. They later realised they were being conned and dragged us to play Twister :-P Lol.
We volunteered to do the spinning.
"Which one is my left foot?"
Okay, i give up.....
Went back to Kg Baru and smiled to see Oyan and Farah already there with Eva.. Got to say hi and salam-salam with everybody..
Headed inside to check on some stuff, and when i got back, they had already left.. :-(
Thank goodness Sharina, Adam, Sara et al. came shortly after, so i had people to entertain.. Or people to entertain me? Heheh..
In the evening it started to rain heavily.. Like seriously, sooo lebat and gelap and scary :-/
Rain water was tempias-ing everywhere, and people sitting outdoors had trouble making their way into the house.. Nasib baik i was already inside, safe from the storm..
As usual, whenever Adam and the gang are around, we'll be like soo semangat planning to go on road trips here and there.. But they never happen. I dont know why we even bother.... Hahah
This time pulak, me and Adam dah semangat plan to go on a road trip in Australia.. :-)
In about two to three years time, that is... Let's just hope this time it actually happens.. Heheh
And strictly no poco-poco!! :-P
When most of the guests had already left, we resumed our photography session. Lol
Even Mama joined in...

Later that night, we went to visit Tok Long in PJ..
I was so exhausted by then, and just wanted to go home and upload pictures sleep.
I'm sure most people will agree with me that Hari Raya this year was pretty different from previous years...
Possible reasons for my case:
1. Aidil, Joey, Rina and Dan werent around to celebrate with us
2. Lin and Zaki had to spend Hari Raya in the hospital coz Sara got jaundice on Raya eve...
3. I didnt get to help Nenek anyam any ketupats pun :-(
4. Not even tighten or isi the ketupats!
5. No one asked me to help fill up angpau packets either..
6. We didnt bake dam cake.. (although i am quite relieved.....)
7. No customary raya eve outing with the Tarzans..
8. No 'Groupbase challenge' with Linny and Sha
9. The heavy rain just dampened my raya spirit :-(
But looking on the bright side, at least the food and duit raya collection was good :-)
Oh boy, who am i kidding.... I want the good ol' raya days backkk :'(
