Well... at least until our next campaign (should we have one). :) We have a little over 30+ hours to go and a little over $1500 to raise. I'm not sure whether we'll make it, but I've personally raised a significant chunk of our 69% so much thanks to those of you who have contributed or helped us publicize!
I'm bummed that we may not hit goal because I'm pretty sure that were I doing this in Austin, I would have hit goal already. I expected a little more support from my old Austin circus friends--not necessarily financially but with social network support and cheering me on. But it's been over 2 years and everyone's moved on to great things. I guess it's just different for them than it is for me. Even though I'm excited about what I've built and am building here, my heart is still in Austin.
Doing this has pushed me to do things I'm not comfortable doing. I've had to force myself to do direct solicitation, which is so not my comfort zone. But it's worked, and I hope it will make me better at creating opportunities for SBCA in general. I was much more fearless about walking into places and asking to set out a flyer, handing out business cards, and even asking about a potential performance venue.
I wish the final hours weren't intersecting with the BVR show on Saturday and the two weeks of no daycare in a row, though. I'm so drained! There's stuff I'd like to be doing now, but I've hit my mental limit. :(
ETA: And of course, I would be remiss if I did not put a link
to the Indiegogo campaign here in case anyone else would like to get us closer to goal.
