Summary: They loved each other. Everything was perfect. Not until their relationship brought sadness to people around them.

What’s supposed to be left unsaid was finally said. It was the best for both of them. They couldn’t expect much nor hope too high of their absurd relationship. They were tired of waiting, of uncertainty. Even though what they feel was true, and there, quietly and slowly growing stronger by the time fled. But they just couldn’t let their feelings blind them from reality, that it would cost too much, there would be a lot of people around them get hurt, as well themselves.
It was easy when they were so close to each other, as if there was nothing to worry about, just enjoyed each other’s presences as company. But those glorious days would soon disappear as Nino made the decision for them.
Nino knew, it was going to be hard to do it, but he must tell Ohno. Nothing else could be done, was there?
So when they were just casually sitting side by side, Ohno slightly leaning in Nino’s shoulder, with heavy eye lids, and blank state of mind.
Nino broke the silence.
“You know it’s so wrong to selfishly thinking about our own happiness, isn’t it?”
“You’re right,” Ohno mumbled.
“Your Mom has been crying a lot over us, hasn’t she?”
The crying face of his Mom crossed Ohno’s mind, “She’s sad.”
“And disappointed.” Nino added, “At us.”
Ohno didn’t say anything, but Nino felt the nod against his arm.
“You know we can’t make her sadder.”
Nino felt Ohno hold his breath, trembling.
“We should find our happiness in a different path, Oh-chan.”
“But I’m happiest with you, Nino,” Ohno said, his fingers clutching tightly on to Nino’s long sleeve.
“So am I,” it was the contrary to what he’s been saying, it sounded like a lie, Nino did mean it however. “But we can’t be together. You know that, don’t you? You know we can’t, so no more complaints, you get it?”
A sob. And followed by another one. And it broke Nino’s heart for the first time that day.
“No more sleeping over at your place?” Ohno asked.
“Yeah…”
“No more watching DVDs on Sundays?”
“You can ask Sho chan or Jun if they have nothing to do.”
It would be different, it wouldn’t be as fun as watching them with Nino. Ohno fell silent as the thought clouded in his mind.
“No more cuddling, no more bathing, no more…”
“Oh-chan…” Nino sighed deeply, inhaled as much as he could. And as he held his own cries, he grabbed Ohno’s cheeks, slowly leaning in for a kiss, feeling the soft lips against his, the warm lips that soon no longer his.
With the last kiss, Nino whispered the last words of love to Ohno’s ear.
They just had to let go each other. Even though there were too much precious memories that they had to let go.
Cause it was for the best.
