Shigeaki Kato
SHIGEAKI KATO has been chosen to star in a TV Tokyo drama series titled "Troubleman," airing this spring (Japan). This will be his first lead role in a television series. "Troubleman" is a comedy about a man who keeps getting dragged into the problems of hi s neighbors. The show is being written and directed by cult filmmaker SABU (45), who has never been in charge of a television drama before.
Ryo Nishikido
"Chonmage Purin" is a strange tale about a young samurai from the Edo period named Kijima Yasube (Nishikido) who slips through time, winding up in the present day. He meets a single mother (Rie Tomosaka) and her 6-year-old son, and through this encounter, he becomes a popular pastry chef.
For the pastry chef role, Nishikido has been undergoing special training at a well-known school since December. He is also practicing for the samurai scenes. He will appear with various hairstyles in the film, which will naturally including the chonmage.
Tomohisa Yamashita
It has now been confirmed that the classic boxing manga "Ashita no Joe" will be turned into a live-action film, starring NEWS member Tomohisa Yamashita as the protagonist Joe Yabuki. The movie is being directed by Fumihiko Sori and is scheduled for release in early 2011.
Yamashita was offered the role about a year ago. He has been a boxing fan for a long time, and has even trained on his own at a boxing gym in the past. He will soon begin serious training to prepare for the role, as filming is set to start in early April.
Tegoshi Yuya
Memories of a Teenage Amnesiac is a 2010 drama fil starring Japanese actress Maki Horikita , Japanese actors Ken'ichi Matsuyama and Yuya Tegoshi and American actor Anton Yelchin based on a book written by Gabrielle Zevin.
