It's official!
Today, I gave Doyle & Roth my 2 weeks notice. Long story short, they almost seemed... disappointed that I was getting ready to leave. Our VP and Plant Manager talked with me for a few minutes, describing the "plan" that they had to improve my situation, claiming that they were getting ready to hire subordinates for both me and my co-engineer Dale, and that this extra responsibility would carry with it a salary hike, but they still didn't meet what Smiths offered. Besides that, they couldn't (read: wouldn't) quote any kind of counter-offer.
So, do I keep the fabulous prize I've already won, or do I trade it for what's behind curtain number 2?
The answer looked really simple.
