texas trip day 1
I decided right now that I will be documenting my little trip to texas for work here on my LJ... its been a bit of an adventure so far.
My flight was overbooked and they called my name to come up to the desk... so I came up to the desk and stood there and then they called other people so I was like OK whatever and just stood there and waited... I finally said hey you called my name... they said no we didn't and I boarded with my group no problem. so I get my seat and its a bulkhead! awesome cause i have leg room and i sit and play my psp for the 2.5 hour flight no problem. I arrive and go to get my rental car... I have to put it on my credit card... no big deal I am getting reimbursed from work... but a weeks worth of rental car is almost 500 bucks (insurance and gas included) so I use my awesome new i-phone's gps to get to my hotel where guess what! they didn't charge my bosses credit card again and I have to use my own (thank god my credit is great and my limit is high!) so I get in my room and sit watching tv for like 45 minutes then realize im hungry so I decide to go exploring and find some food... I walk out my hotel and look around before getting into my car and BOOM! hooters within walking distance... hot wings sounded good so i go in there and sit at the bar.
turns out its 2 dollars for a bottle of CL! so i order some wings and my CL and enjoy the WEC fight on the tv. The dude sitting next to me orders some crab legs and we start talking about random shit and he says he just got back from Iraq. I say welcome back and thanks for going over there. he says oh no i wasn't in the military. I am Kid Rock's lighting guy and was there for his performances. 5 minutes later he asks me if i "party" I say yeah sure I party back at home he said but do you "party" as he rubs his nose with his index finger... I say no and dont talk to him the rest of the time I am there.
So now I am back in my room. I had 4 beers, and got an interesting story. what a start to a work trip.
