Not an absolute ton to report, honestly. They've kept us pretty busy with five days of orientation stuff (I'm actually hopping on between meetings; they crammed like 6 mandatory discussion/lecture/Q&A things all into the last day), and classes start tomorrow.

It's lots of meeting other freshmen and breaking the ice sort of things. It is nice to get out and actually be able to say "Hey, you're the girl from the summer reading discussion. Soandso, right?" instead of forging all those initial connections by chance, but the volume of them is starting to wear on me. Luckily I've only got two more assemblies and a dinner to go to tonight.

Classes should be... interesting. The campus is beautiful (though I'm starting to loathe the walking), and mostly I hope I don't lose my mind on Wednesdays during the first semester. I stacked up my schedule so I'd have as much big chunks of free time as possible; this means tomorrow from 9 until 4ish I'll be in class. First Year Seminar (a required course with a certain topic to help us get acclimated to the college seminar deal [Mine's called Evolution in Everyday Life, very neat]), the requisite English course, and then intro courses in Psych and Ethics. I've got those Tuesday and Thursday, then I'm free the rest of the week.

Plenty of time for gaming... But it can never be that simple. =/ City of Heroes apparently has a pretty archaic method of establishing a connection (needs certain ports open all the time instead of just establishing a connection between the client and server), which means that it is by no means supported by the school's default connection and in fact would apparently require some real annoying setup to let me connect. This school is really good about helping students with QoL stuff, and I sent a PM to the head of the tech department and am still waiting to hear back. I talked with some of the student members of the tech help group on campus after a computer intro thing (the last thing I was at, actually) and was told that was my best bet, but not to get my hopes up. Understandably, their policy on online gaming is pretty much looking the other way, so it's not really likely a request for special permissions specifically for the purpose of connecting to an MMO would be granted.

So. *misery* Hopefully everything settles down in a good place. Hopefully. I'm really irritated about CoH right now and am hoping there's some help for me. If not... I dunno.
