Happy New Year all.

Yesterday afternoon was occupied horseback riding with Josh in the Gatineau hills as his Christmas gift to me and we then proceeded to attend a New Years party at Justin's house that evening. It was a really friendly atmosphere and really "classy" I guess is the only way to describe it. Sure there was tons and tons of pot and much drinking but there was also classical music- Mozart I believe, jazz music, Bacgamon (I'm sorry I slaughtered the spelling), people writing poetry, people sketching and people sitting and having in depth conversations on the most random topics. The count down to New Years was successfully accomplished after a bit of disorganization, and I guess people felt generous in the new year because there must have been about 5 joints being passed around the room to share amongst everyone.
It was a really good evening and a great way to bring in 2005. I drank three sips of strawberry vodka, and kept my promise of never drinking to the point of sickness again. Despite soreness in my legs this morning from sleeping cramped on a small couch, cantering on horseback across a snow covered field, and exhaustion from lack of sleep, I was fine this morning when I returned home.
I saw the phantom of the opera movie this evening while the rest of my family went to see the incredibles. I really loved the film, there were some really beautiful camera shots, costumes and sets, plus I love that show, so it definitely deems a gold star in my books. Despite a couple of rather corny moments- but with a story such as this it could not really be avoided.
All in all I'm up to seeing it again and I will most definitely like to add it to my collection of dvds when it comes out.
