I have actually been able to stay away from the internet for a while so i guess that's been a good thing. First thing's first, my bro Brent is getting married to Kara on August 6, so that is really cool, and your's truly is gonna be the best man and i dunno if i can take all the pressure that goes along with it hahaha.
Some of the other going ons are I got to see the Indians game last night which had fireworks after, it was really cool and a good way to wind down from working open to close that day (i was so tired). On a side note, customers are really stupid! We closed at 4 on july4th (i had to be there at 7 am and got out just before 5) and locked the door so some customers started coming in through the exit and said "Hey do you guys know that the front door is locked?" YES we know it is locked because we are closed, and people still in the store just took their good ol' time shopping around even as we were making announcements that we were closed. Dance lessons were really fun except for i still don't understand the girls' fascination with the backstreet boys, i guess i never will(see ellen's LJ for a bit more info on the dancin). I went to the mardi gras festival in fairport harbor with donna's family. Me, Kevin, and Whale all got swindled out of 5 dollars by the carnies and all we got were some small stuffed fish, that was even the second level prize (the game was popping ballons with darts, ellen, my first one even bounced off) but he kept giving me free ones and i popped like five straight and all i got was a stupid fish, i stopped when he said it's free if you miss but 5 dollars if you make it. WHOA! how does the price jump from 2 dollars to 5?
IF YOU READ ONE PARAGRAPH IN THIS ENTRY READ THIS ONE!
So the sunday before last sunday was one of the greatest experiences of my life. I went with my mom, Beth, and Brent to the GM Auto Show In Motion where you actually get to test drive the cars on courses setup in the parking lot at the IX Center. There were a couple different sections: Large SUVs, SUVs, Trucks, Luxury, Passenger, H2 Hummer course, and a Performance course. For the hummer course you needed to drive an SUV or truck before you could go on it and you had to drive on the passenger course before driving on the performance course. We first walked by the trucks and SUVs, i wanted to drive an Escalade just so i could be ghetto and say i drove an escalade but we decided to look around for a little bit before choosing what to get in line for. I got in line first for the Saturn Ion Red Line in the passenger course. You may think "hey saturns are kinda boring" (sorry Sanderson) but the Red Line is supercharged to around 200HP. I was so nervous when i was next in line because it is a manual tranny and my shifting skillz are not all that great. And lo and behold i did stall out waiting in the line of cars to get on the course but i don't think anyone noticed. On the track though i squeelled the tires at the starting lines, it was so much fun. While i did this my mom drove a Pantiac GTO, Beth drove a Buick LaCrosse, and Brent drove a new Cobalt. Before you started on the course they marked you off for the performance (how do they know that you're not gonna crash the car) and then we headed for the Performance course where my fav car is, the Corvette, they also had a Cadillac CTS-V. I got in line for the automatic Corvette with my sister since i was scared to drive the manual vette, but she convinced me to drive the manual which i did and it was one of the greatest moments in my life. There is nothing else like flooring a 400HP! car around a test track, i just wish the course was longer. The car was so nice it shifted easily, i didn't stall out, and it also displayed the MPH in front of the driver on the windshield. After that i went and test drove a BMW 325(german pride) on the luxury course since they had other cars you could compare with. That car was really nice and comfy.
In short dance classes = fun, carnies = bad, Corvette = simply amazing. So if any one has a spare $50K they wanna give me or they could just buy me a corvette it would be greatly appreciated.
