Cowboy Bebop. I haven't watched it in a long time, but I found it the other day when I was at Best Buy. A box set with all episodes in one package, instead of purchasing all six discs. Makes me happy. I love it as you think about the Cowboy part of it, and along comes the thoughts of what it should be: an old cowboy, a loner exacting the justice necessary to survive. The process of watching Spike's plane come out is comparative to the cowboy saddling up his horse, packing his goods into his saddle bags, bidding his pa goodbye.
Darren and I had a random discussion in the middle of Barnes and Noble the other day about Doctor Who with one of the workers there. We were leaving the YA section and go through the physics section, which he likes, and I started laughing. There on a book was a blue phone box, flying through space. It looked EXACTLY like the Tardis. I pointed it out and he completely disagreed with me. I kept telling him THAT IS THE TARDIS, and we started talking about the fanboys and physics and such so much that the lady working there in the YA section, and has so for years, and she goes, "Well now I've GOT to see this" and she comes over and laughs and agrees with me that it's completely and utterly the Tardis. It makes me laugh just to think how one part of a small fandom can bring people together.
