It's the 29th of February! How did you guys spend the leap day? Was it just another day where your daily routine happens as per normal or was it something different, or perhaps more special? I guess it would have been special for those whose birthdays fall on this day. I don't really think of it as unlucky, honestly. Happy birthday to my fellow xiao pau, Jowilly! You were born special, so be proud of it ;)

Guess what I did? Since it's been years since I've been to Singapore's very own zoo (I can't even remember when was the last time I came), I decided to pay the animals a visit. Thanks to this fabulous deal available only for the month of February, Yinghui & I were entitled to a 50% discount on our entrance tickets! So off we went to the Singapore Zoological Gardens on a leap day!

Our very first stop for the day was the gift shop! We were eyeing a few pieces of merchandise over there because the animal keychains & toys were so cute but the price was a tad expensive so we gave the purchase a miss!

The exploration of the animals begins here!  Braving through the countless mosquito bites and the merciless and scorching heat, we spent a good 6 hours touring the zoo!

Our navigator for the day!

Now don't say I didn't warn you, it can be quite wordy with all the pictures from here on! (LOL I sound like a zookeeper trying to bring you for a visual tour of the zoo)

Poor little false gharial here is one of the endangered species! :(

The white tiger which refused to move even an inch! I wished I had a chunk of fat, juicy meat to tempt it to move around, but I may well be offering myself to it instead... (LOL)

Recently Dad has been calling me a hippo because he thinks I look like one!!!!! (WHUT hahahaha) I should tell him, "Dad, this is a compliment because you're saying I'm a graceful ballerina, and an underwater one at that. So I'm proficient in synchronized swimming. Now that's real talent your daughter has!!" And this picture is hardcore evidence hehe. *winks*

Am I really that zoomorphic that I look like this pygmy hippo?!?

The new implementation of a scenic boat ride which brings you around, spanning some really breathtaking views of the Seletar Reservoir! Too bad it was an additional $6 and there wasn't anyone else keen in the boat ride so we didn't take it.

At one point of time we were so fucking tired with all the crazy itch from the mozzie bites that we wanted to hop on the tram but we realized it was an additional $5! Singapore's 'public transport' demonstrates its ability of daylight robbery yet again! (LOL)

"I wanna take picture here, they look like those praying ancient temple statues!"
"Lift your leg la then you'll look like some yoga master!"
"OKAY!"
How obedient of her LOLOL!

We stopped for a rest at the Elephants at Work & Play show and then tadah I took out my Doraemon fan because it was fucking hot! It came so handy, thank God I brought it along today :)

The host of the show first introduced the 4 elephants to us, which I can't remember their names at all, oops. 2 of them got into the water thereafter and slowly approached the audience. The first few rows were sprayed with water HAHAHAHA and I felt that it was quite hilarious when this little boy kept crying because he was completely soaked LOL he surely didn't see it coming!

Look at how an elephant which possibly weighs a whopping 400 kilograms balance on a considerably narrow and long plank of wood for it!

Helping its trainer to put on his hat! Too cute!

Elephants sure are strong!!!! Especially their trunks!

The elephants demonstrating their teamwork!

This reminds me so much of my mother trying to wake me up in the morning. The elephant had to spray water at its fellow friend to wake her up!

The show ended with the elephants strutting their final poses :)

Of orang utans, lemurs, otters, pea fowls, ducks, and more!

There were a few groups of small children visiting the zoo. Here's one of the groups of kids who were so fascinated by the lemur.

I liked it that they added a little something for an extra special touch to the show to end it off with promoting conservation efforts to the public. Such awareness should be raised!

So... Who looks more like an orang utan? Answer: right. Yes you're right HAHAHAHA.

We coincidentally brought the same aviators so we decided to camwhore with it :)

A few moments later while we were resting, the bitch Fangyin (HAHAHAHA hope she doesn't sees this) Whatsapp-ed us and said, "Animals looking at animals?! You all go zoo see animals, on the other hand those animals also take you all as animals leh. Walk around for them to see HAHA." Whaddah bitch right heehee!

Looking like some animals with no enclosure who are free to roam....

Visited the kangaroos but they weren't even active at all! I still remember the experience back at Caversham Wildlife Park in Perth 2 years ago...

It was such a close-up encounter with the kangaroos back then. I didn't have any food with me, but they all came to me in a swarm. But when the guide gave me some, they started to stand tall instead of the crouching position, looking at me in hope that I would feed them. I love kangaroos :)

Did you know? Kangaroo means "I don't understand"!!

CAN-GIRL-RUZ :)

*looks at map really carefully*
"Ok let's go to the sun bear enclosure!"
*walks and walks and walks*
(we were lost for a few moments hahahahaha)

On the way we saw these free-ranging orang utans resting on their 'hammocks'! Yup and it's the world's first free-ranging orang utan habitats!

Comparison between the hands of an orang utan and yours truly's! Woah. And Yinghui said I look like Veera....

The sun bear and its poo!

*acts cool with Nike's signature tick*
*acts cute with a little twist*

My worst fear ever!!!!! I'm not gonna post any pictures of snakes here because looking at the pictures alone already creeps me out. I'm serious. I stood 3 metres away from the enclosure to view the snakes LOLOL.

I told Yinghui to wait up because I had to see this: "When You Meet A Snake". It tells you what to do just in case the snake breaks out of its enclosure!!! LOL sorry, I'm just trying to play safe.

Crocodile eggs for sales!!! Just kidding.

Yinghui took this and its...... The penis of a crocodile. LOLOL!

Such a pretty view :)

With the seal statues! I'm a queen because all of them are looking up to me thanks ;)

Empire of little cute penguins!!!!

I kept screaming "Omg so cute so cute" when the penguin jumped into the water and swam around!! AHHHHH cuteness overload hahaha! Hmm reminds me of the F in FATZ.

With da rhino!!! Ok this rhino isn't grey.

Zebras! I like to stare at their stripes and imagine there's an optical illusion!

What a pretty azure blue skyline!!!! :)

Introducing.... My good pal the giraffe!!!

Walrus(es).

Camwhoring moments!

Prettiest looking pony!

Ancient typewriter in a kampong house exhibit!

I'm gonna enter a cooking competition...... NOT.

Very, very oversized in this little fitting room for kids! LOL grow out of your childish antics, Zoe!

Yinghui was so excited after she bought some dino skeleton figurines!

She wanted to have a mini shoot for her precious figurines so she tore the packaging violently and started to arrange them nicely on a sturdy rock.

TADAH!!!! Quite interesting huh?

The weather started to become ugly and it drizzled so we decided to head to Tampines to meet Chia Ming and Vivian for dinner!

Thank you Yinghui for accompanying me to the zoo though you're damn busy since it's your project week!! (I didn't even know until she told me when we were at the zoo already) Love you hehe <3

Happy leap day to all :)
