Clarification post!
So yes, I did get drunk and buy a computer last night. I've been thinking about buying one for the past few weeks now because I think mine is on the verge of dying but the alcohol made it much easier to decide. It's running a lot slower for some reason. I know this because a lot of the games I've played without trouble are beginning to lag badly. I also want to dabble back into EQ2 as I got a free couple months to play and they gave me all of the expansions for free. Hell, I'd play almost any MMO if they gave me 2 free months and all of the expansions. My old computer could barely handle EQ2 to begin with. As for my old computer, it'll get stripped down as I'm keeping a few of the drives and such to put in the new box. Mind you, it was the first computer I've ever built so I'm surprised it lasted this long. I may try to work out the kinks in the old one after some time to have a backup in case this new creation craps out on me. We'll see. I am building the new computer as well... I'll prolly have Cory come out and give me a hand so I don't break anything. When I built my first computer, I put NO cooling in it at all so the video card didn't last very long. I still have that old card too, good card, you just have to let it warm up, else it stalls *laugh* As for the parts I bought:
Asus Deluxe Motherboard
XFX Geforce 8800 GTS XXX 320MB Video Card
AMD Athlon 64 x2 5600+ 2.8Ghz
2 GB RAM
320 GB Hard Drive
a Case and a 500W Power Supply (which I hope will be able to handle that video card)
Not top of the line, but at least 10x better than what I have and all I want to do is be able to play EQ2 and other games that I have comfortably at this point... and possibly Starcraft 2 when it arrives in like 2015 or whatever. Oh, and NO PORN on the new computer! What a struggle that will be! *laugh* So this weeks paycheck is gonna be shot plus a little more than that... oh well. That is really ALL I can think of buying in terms of entertainment for a long long time. That should keep me set as I decide what I want to do with my life... if I ever decide. One thing is for sure... I have to get outta TW. Normally, I'd be as giddy as a little kid on summer vacation knowing that this stuff is coming but the realization is that I have to go to work at Howard St. tonight. This is gonna suck. One a positive note, if I did find another job out there that looked promising, I could apply since I don't work until 5pm now. I'd be able to interview n such, no problem.
On another note, my internet is running slow as shit again today. Go Go Time Warner!! Does it make your job harder when you have no faith at all in the company you work for? :) :)
